The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
