This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
