And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
