Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
