And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
