And this Qur'an is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
