Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
Almighty God's Truth.
