Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
