The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. THESE ARE MESSAGES of the Qur'an - a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 1 a guidance and glad tidings to believers, 2 who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 It is they whom the worst of suffering awaits: for it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the greatest losers! 5 Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! 14
