It is only ancient legends." 68 Say: 'Journey in the land, then behold how was the end of the sinners.' 69 And grieve thou not over them nor be straitened because of that which they plot. 70 They say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak the truth?' 71 Say: "Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, may be close behind you. 72 Verily your Lord is gracious to men, though most men are ungrateful. 73 Lo! thy Lord knoweth surely all that their bosoms hide, and all that they proclaim. 74 there is nothing hidden in heaven and on earth, but is recorded in a clear Book. 75 Verily this Qur'an recounteth with truth unto the Children of Isra'il much of that wherein they differ. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Lo! thy Lord will judge between them of His wisdom, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 78 So put your trust in Allah for you are on the manifest truth. 79 Indeed the dead* do not listen to your call nor do the deaf* listen to your call, when they flee turning back. (The dead and deaf implies the disbelievers.) 80 And you will not guide the blind out of their error; and none listen to you except those who accept faith in Our signs, and they are Muslims. 81 ۞ Now, [as for the deaf and blind of heart -] when the word [of truth] stands revealed against them, We shall bring forth unto them out of the earth a creature, which will tell them that mankind had no real faith in Our messages. 82
