Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and the smooth runners 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
