In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
