O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you seek the life of this world and all its finery then come, I will make provision for you, and release you honourably. 28 “And if you desire Allah and His Noble Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter – then indeed Allah has kept prepared an immense reward for the virtuous among you.” 29 O Ye wives of the Prophet! whosoever of you shall commit a manifest indecency, doubled for her would be the punishment twice over; and with Allah that is easy. 30 ۞ And whosoever of you is submissive unto Allah and His messenger and doeth right, We shall give her her reward twice over, and We have prepared for her a rich provision. 31 Wives of the Prophet, you are not as other women. If you are godfearing, be not abject in your speech, so that he in whose heart is sickness may be lustful; but speak honourable words. 32 And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying. 33 And remember that which is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and the Wisdom. Allah is the Subtle, the Knower. 34
