The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
