In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
