The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
