The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Verily your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
