In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and those who recite the Remembrance 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And our fathers too?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
