The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And our fathers too?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
