۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
