۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we not then to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
