1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
