Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
