And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
