(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
