The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
