Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
