Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 You and whatever you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we glorify God". 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
