Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And there were those who said, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
