Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
