Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
