And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; or shall We treat the pious as the wicked? 28 This is the Blessed Book that We have revealed to you, (O Muhammad), that people with understanding may reflect over its verses and those with understanding derive a lesson. 29 To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)! 30 When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers 31 He said: "The love of horses is worthy of desire to me for the remembrance of my Lord;" and when they were out of sight, (he said): 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower." 35 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed, 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 And other demons bound in chains. 38 We said: "This is Our gift, so give or withhold as you wish without reckoning." 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
