And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 In Our eyes they were of the chosen, virtuous people. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
