And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
