Say: 'I am only a warner. There is no god except Allah, the One, the Conqueror, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: It is tremendous tidings 67 To which you pay no heed. 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. 74 The Lord said, "Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating before what I have created with My own hands? Was it because of your pride or are you truly exalted?" 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 (God) said: "You have the respite 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, 82 Other than the chosen ones among Your creatures." 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.' 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 It is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 87 And you will surely know [the truth of] its information after a time." 88
