Allah it is Who hath appointed for you cattle, that ye may ride on some of them, and eat of others 79 other uses also you have in them; and that on them you may attain a need in your breasts, and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 80 He shows you His signs. Now which of the signs of Allah do you disbelieve? 81 Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn. 82 Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things): And that at which they used to mock, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment). 83 And when they saw Our Might, they said: 'We believe in Allah alone, and we disbelieve in that we used to associate with Him' 84 but believing after seeing Our punishment did not benefit them at all: this is the law of God to deal with His creatures, and thus the disbelievers were the losers. 85
