Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
