Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
