Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
HaMeem. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful. 15
