He who is negligent to remember the Merciful One, to him We assign a satan as his boon companion, 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped? 45
