۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
