۞ When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 If We had so willed We could have made some of you into angels to become your successors on earth. 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 "Verily, Allah! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of true Islamic Monotheism)." 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Are they waiting (for any thing) but the Hour (of Doom) which would descend upon them suddenly, and catch them unawares? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
