۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 Verily he (i.e., Jesus) is a portent of the Hour. So be in no doubt concerning it and follow Me. This is the Straight Way. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
