۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
