And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
