And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
