and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
