Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
God will bring to naught all the good deeds of those who are bent on denying the truth and bar [others] from the path of God. 1 whereas those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, and have come to believe in what has been bestowed from on high on Muhammad - for it is the truth from their Sustainer - [shall attain to God's grace:] He will efface their [past] bad deeds, and will set their hearts at rest. 2 That is because the ones who deny the truth follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord. Thus God sets forth comparisons for mankind. 3 If you encounter the disbelievers in a battle, strike-off their heads. Take them as captives when they are defeated. Then you may set them free as a favor to them, with or without a ransom, when the battle is over. This is the Law. Had God wanted, He could have granted them (unbelievers) victory, but He wants to test you through each other. The deeds of those who are killed for the cause of God will never be without virtuous results. 4 He will show them the way, and better their state, 5 And will admit them into gardens with which he has acquainted them. 6 O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. 7 But those who reject (Allah),- for them is destruction, and (Allah) will render their deeds astray (from their mark). 8 That is because they detest that which Allah hath sent down, and so He shall make of non-effect their works. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them. 11
