Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
