Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
